March and April: two months that “taste of many things”.

These are months of transition, where some days already show us a preview of the spring/summer climate, while others remind us that we still need those sweaters that we had put in the bottom drawer of our closet. We begin to feel the smells of spring, the warmth of the sun on the skin, that light spring wind….

March and April are the months of “We will go, we will do, I wish, …. “

In this period of transition one important thing must not be forgotten: the arrival of the new collections and shopping for spring/summer! Also in terms of shopping March and April are two important months, we begin to think about the new spring and summer wardrobe, we begin to lighten ourselves, to use new colors, more vivid colors.

And what about the jewelry?

In the world of clothing it's simple, there is the winter season and then the summer one, but how does it work with jewels? Also in this fashion sector, are there any differences between the seasons? Can we talk about “winter jewels” and “spring/summer jewels”? Or is it not the jewel itself that changes appearance, but it’s simply the way we wear it?

There is not exactly a right and a wrong statement, but it’s certainly "super true" that the way we wear jewelry changes according to the season in which we find ourselves. Just as we have trends in womenswear and menswear, millions of new trends are found every year in jewelry design, which focus on the shape of the jewel rather than on the material, or on how the latter are worn.

One of the trends of S/S 2021, which seems tailor-made for NDSG is the “Jewelry Layering Trend”. If we were to make a literal translation, we would speak of a layering of the jewel, that is, a jewel in layers, as composed of many levels.

But what exactly is it about?

"Layering" is the art of overlapping several necklaces of different lengths and wearing them all at the same time. The same thing can happen, too, with bracelets and rings. So the trend of this spring/summer is to wear layered necklaces, different types of rings on one hand, a multitude of bracelets and "so on and so forth" ….
